Valid RI Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced EMT-Cardiac (AEMT-C) or Paramedic license issued by the RI
Department of Health at the time of appointment
Valid driver's license
High school diploma or equivalency
Valid RI Association of Fire Chiefs (RIAFC) Physical Performance Assessment Test (PPA) certification*
RI Association of Fire Chiefs Firefighter Entry Level Written Examination results with a score greater than or equal to 70*
ALL APPLICANTS WILL HAVE UNTIL APRIL 14, 2025 TO PROVIDE VALID WRITTEN & PPA CERTIFICATION
Currently employed as a full-time paid firefighter
Valid motor vehicle operator's license
Rhode Island or National EMT-B
Rhode Island Municipal Fire Academy or a Municipal Fire Academy with RI or Pro-Board FF Level I & 2
Hazardous Material Operations Certification
Must pass RIAFC Physical Performance Assessment (Valid RIAFC PPA)
RIAFC FF Entry Level Written Exam 70° or greater
Must pass extensive background investigation
