Members of the Harrisville Fire Department created the Honor Guard in 2005 in order to reflect the pride we have for our organization, to honor fallen firefighters and their families and to represent the citizens of Harrisville at various functions. The unit participates in local, statewide and national events including parades, sporting events and memorial services. Recently the unit had the privilege and distinction as the sole Honor Guard from the State of Rhode Island to honor our fallen brothers and sisters at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend conducted at The National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg Maryland.

Our membership consists of firefighters and officers who represent all divisions of the department including suppression, ems and engineering. With the very strong support of the Harrisville Fire District Operating Committee for which we are extremely grateful , our unit intends to grow in order to further display the pride we have in our community and to the Harrisville Fire Department.
